This will be an introductory talk on the Boltzmann model for granular materials.  Some of the aspect that I will cover:

- An intuitive explanation of collisional operators: From particles to kinetics.
- Strange phenomena that occur in granular gases.
- Some applications: Hydrodynamic limits, Swarming, market, etc.
