"Time and Space Discretizations of Miscible Displacement Equations Under Low Regularity"

Miscible displacement problem arises in many applications related to porous media flow, in particular in the enhance oil recovery process(EOR). Accurate prediction of the fluid profile, especially the viscous fingering effect, is essential in the development of a numerical method. In this talk, I will propose a method that is locally mass-conservative and higher order in space and time to solve the PDE model of the miscible displacement. The talk will offer some detail information about the time discretization, numerics and an update of the theoretical analysis of the problem.
