Dane Grundvig, a second-year doctoral student in computational and applied mathematics (CAAM) at Rice, has received a 2022 National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship Award.
He will receive full tuition for up to three years, a monthly stipend of $3,400, up to $1,400 annually for health insurance, a $5,000 travel budget and $1,500 for professional development.
Grundvig’s doctoral adviser is Matthias Heinkenschloss, the Noah G. Harding Chair and Professor of CAAM. Grundvig earned his B.S. in applied and computational mathematics in 2018 and his M.S. in mathematics in 2020, both from Brigham Young University.
The NDSEG Fellowship Program is sponsored by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the Army Research Office, and the Office of Naval Research, under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, and is administered by Innovative Technology Solutions.
