Note: The latest bug fixes are contained in patch.tar and ppatch.tar.
You may update your ARPACK library by downloading these files.  See
instructions below for intalling the patches.

This website allows you to download the following files:

1. General information about ARPACK and Parallel ARPACK can be found in the 
   files:

	readme.arpack
	readme.parpack

2. For installation procedures see:

	instruction.arpack
	instruction.parpack

3. A new users' guide ( version 1 - draft ) is now available.
	ug.ps.gz

   Pages 57-58 and 61-62 of the users' guide contain graphs of filter 
   polynomials.  Since the image files are very large, separate files are 
   created to hold these pages.  They are
        P57_58.ps.gz
        P61_62.ps.gz


4. For tutorials and other related materials, look under relevant documents
   for:
  
        tutorial.ps.gz
        lockpg.ps.gz

5. If you would like to use the serial ARPACK, download either
  
        arpack96.tar.gz or arpack96.tar.Z  and  patch.tar.gz
   
   and follow the instructions provided in instruction.arpack to build
   an ARPACK library.  Note that patch.tar.gz contains bug fixes
   for ARPACK.

   If you would like to use the parallel ARPACK, download both

       arpack96.tar.gz, patch.tar.gz, parpack96.tar.gz, and ppatch.tar.gz

   or 
 
       arpack96.tar.Z,  patch.tar.gz, parpack96.tar.Z, and ppatch.tar.gz

   and follow the instructions provided in instruction.parpack to build a
   PARPACK library.  Note that ppatch.tar.gz contains bug fixes for PARPACK.

6. INSTALLING PATCHES

   patch.tar.gz and ppatch.tar.gz should be placed in the same directory
   where arpack96.tar.gz and parpack96.tar.gz reside.   After these 
   files are unbundled, the modified source codes will overwrite those
   in ARPACK/SRC.
