About
My name is Arturo Vargas, I am in the Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics at
Rice University. I am currently working under the direction of Dr. Yin Zhang and Dr. Edward Castillo.
I use Numerical Optimization to address Image Registration problems. The problems are motivated by
need of better quality thoracic 4D computed tomography image sets. Outside of studying applied
mathematics; I strive to become a proficient programmer, as such I am slowly putting together a
code bank available on this website.
