CAAM/NEUR 415: Theoretical Neuroscience
Fall 2012

Biophysical Modeling and Computation from Cell to Network

Final Project: Review and reproduce the major findings of a research paper in computational neuroscience. Your review should be at least 6 pages long, single spaced, with intro, body, conclusions, references and well labeled figures with legends. The figures should be integrated into the text, not full page appendices. MATLAB code will go in an appendix and does not count toward the 6 pages. You may (in fact are encouraged) to work with one other person. Your review is due in class Thursday Nov 29, where you will be given 5 minutes to give the class an oral executive summary, with slides. Recommended resources: we make many references to basic papers in our text. See also the texts by C. Koch, Ermentrout & Terman, Izekevich, and Gerstner and Kistler. See also the Encyclopedia of Computational Neuroscience. See also the the journals in this list.
