The Greater Houston Chapter of the Alzheimer's
Association supports the 40,000 Alzheimer's patients and their
families throughout Southeast Texas. The following list contains
the services offered by this organization. Please call the
Houston chapter (see address and phone number below) for more
information about these services.
- Helpline: A bilingual
hotline offers callers emotional support, referral
services and factual information.
- Respite Aide Registry/Match:
Individuals trained by the chapter are available to
families seeking in-home assistance and companionship.
- Financial Assistance:
Some assistance is available to help eligible families
access respite care programs.
- Education and Training:
Information and training is available to family members
and healthcare professionals to learn how to address the
needs of persons with this disease.
- Connections: Time-limited
counseling and case management to help families access
services and plan for the future.
- Speakers Bureau:
Presentations on a variety of topics related to
Alzheimer's disease are available.
- Safe Return Program: A
national program to help identify, locate and return home
individuals who wander.
- Lending Library: Books,
videos and other materials are available for members to
borrow.
