• On Sept 21st, the GSA (Graduate Student Association) representatives approved unanimously our ROP, so we are now an officially recognized Rice student association.
• On Sept 17, we held our very first meeting! We introduced the chapter to our new members, and there was pizza and drinks. This meeting's slides are available here: first meeting (PDF)

Rules of Procedure reviewed and accepted by SIAM.

April 14, 2004

Introduction of the Chapter by-laws draft to the CAAM graduate body. By the way if you received the SIAM Newsjournal we are mentionned on page 9 as pending application. Here are some updates after our meeting:

• The officer positions were discussed and volunteers for officers were accepted.
• Since the SIAM Chapter will be asking alumni to come talk to us, we will also mantain a CAAM alumni page.
• To encourage the members to come to the meetings, light food/drinks will be provided by the Chapter.
