Rice-TMC Sigma Xi Distance Learning Program
Posted 7/13/99, see update
This Fall, you will have an opportunity to share your specialized scientific knowledge
with middle and high school students through an innovative Distance Learning Program in
which this Sigma Xi Chapter and Northbrook Middle School are Partners in Education.
We request your cooperation to volunteer one hour this term to provide a dialogue with
students on a topic of your choice. This can be done in a two-way interface television
broadcast directly from sites at Rice University and the University of Texas Health
Science Center-Houston into the students' special classrooms.
If you wish to share a single hour for this very worthwhile effort, please provide the
information requested, detach the information and mail, fax, phone, or E-mail it to our
coordinators. The coordinators will arrange scheduling between you and the teachers and
then contact you.
Thank you for helping our young people to better understand science and
appreciate reading.
